When I began the Outlander books， I fell so hard for the character of Jamie Fraser and hisrelationship with Claire， the time-traveling WWII nurse， that I was reading them atstoplights while I was driving。 I’m not proud， but they are THAT good。 This box setcontains all my fave books of the series—Outlander， Dragonfly in Amber， Voyager， andDrums of Autumn。 There are four books here so I decree I’m allowed four sentences。

I loved the Outlander books。 I've read almost all of Gabaldon books。 I am waiting for the last two of her Lord John Grey books。 The books give you a look at Scottish life under the English in the mid 1700's。 Also， what life was like in the soon to be USA。 Claire， a women who served in the 1940's as a nurse for the British soldiers in WWll。 After the end of the war she， accidently gets transported back two hundred years in time， to meet the love of her life。 Jamie Fraser is a scottish Laird who s I loved the Outlander books。 I've read almost all of Gabaldon books。 I am waiting for the last two of her Lord John Grey books。 The books give you a look at Scottish life under the English in the mid 1700's。 Also， what life was like in the soon to be USA。 Claire， a women who served in the 1940's as a nurse for the British soldiers in WWll。 After the end of the war she， accidently gets transported back two hundred years in time， to meet the love of her life。 Jamie Fraser is a scottish Laird who suffers at the hands of English Soldier known as Black Jack Randall。 A multigenerational relative of her husband， Frank Randall， the resemblance is startling。 The books span around 30 years。 Between the time Claire arrives in the past knowing some of the history of the past。 She knows Scottish life will not be the same after the battle of Culloden。 Jamie should have died in the war。 Jamie had sent Claire back to the future。 She becomes a surgeon and has Jamie's baby。 Read the books if you like historical novels you should love these。 I have reread the series three times。 。。。more

I came late to the Outlander party （2019）。 The first time I read these books， I rushed through reading them to get the story。 This second reading， I enjoyed the beauty of Diana Gabaldon’s writing。 I love to reread great stories， and I know this won’t be my only reread of this series。

OMG！ This series is outstanding！ If you have a summer to kill， I highly recommend it。 If not， you can probably make the series of eight books last for a year easily！ History， fantasy， romance， all rolled into one series。 It your a stickler for consistent point of view this may upset you as the point of view in this series switches from time to time。 It didn’t bother me because I was too caught up in the story！
