A Word of WarningGreat read。 Be warned though。 Once you pick it up, it is very tough to put it down。 Ms。 Gabaldon paints the pictures well。

Theresa Marko,
Wonderful seriesAs I watched the television series before reading the books, I can’t help but compare。 Obviously the books are better。 I much prefer Claire’s character in the books though。 She has much more of a backbone。 I’m not sure why they changed her character so much in the show。 She was frustrating and sometimes I would just want to tell her to stop whining and get a grip。 At least in the books she seemed like she actually grasped that she was in a different century and had to do things s Wonderful seriesAs I watched the television series before reading the books, I can’t help but compare。 Obviously the books are better。 I much prefer Claire’s character in the books though。 She has much more of a backbone。 I’m not sure why they changed her character so much in the show。 She was frustrating and sometimes I would just want to tell her to stop whining and get a grip。 At least in the books she seemed like she actually grasped that she was in a different century and had to do things she wouldn’t have to otherwise。 I look forward to reading the next 4 books and hope they are as good。 。。。more

OutlanderI started watching the show before I read any of the books。 I always love to read the stories before they are brought to life on the screen。 The books are wonderful。 I can’t wait to get into the next in the series。

If you love amazing steamy historical romances filled with extremely well developed characters that have both strengths and weaknesses, then you will love this box set of four books。 Great action, adventure, danger, and emotional drama also feature in this epic tale。 Begin with the first book as the books build on each other。 This series is a true masterpiece of writing。
Jordan Shadbolt,

Wonderfully absorbing! I was very sad to be coming to the end of the first 4 books but I am sooo glad that I haven’t completely finished the series。 I love to escape back in time with Claire and experience the Scottish culture of my ancestors。 Watching the Outlander series on Netflix and Prime (on my 3rd time through right now) made me want to read the books。 I am addicted to the show but I love the books even more and I love the differences the books bring to this beautiful story。 I am a descen Wonderfully absorbing! Laura Bradbury,
When I began the Outlander books, I fell so hard for the character of Jamie Fraser and hisrelationship with Claire, the time-traveling WWII nurse, that I was reading them atstoplights while I was driving。 I’m not proud, but they are THAT good。 This box setcontains all my fave books of the series—Outlander, Dragonfly in Amber, Voyager, andDrums of Autumn。 There are four books here so I decree I’m allowed four sentences。
Lola Foberg,

Geri Sciscoe,
Intricate and fascinating。 Really had a hard time putting it down。I liked the detail and history。 I could have done with fewer languages。 She is very good at keeping the attention of her readers。
Jessica Maxey,
Overall, the later books are better than the first。 As an introduction to the world of Outlander, the first book lacked character development for Claire resulting in a very two-dimensional portrayal。 This issue improves vastly over the next three books。 Independent of this issue, my biggest dislike about this series is the extremely racist depiction of the character Yi Tien Cho。 It seems to go beyond what was strictly necessary to portray the racism of the time period, especially from Claire's p Overall, the later books are better than the first。 As an introduction to the world of Outlander, the first book lacked character development for Claire resulting in a very two-dimensional portrayal。 This issue improves vastly over the next three books。 Independent of this issue, my biggest dislike about this series is the extremely racist depiction of the character Yi Tien Cho。 It seems to go beyond what was strictly necessary to portray the racism of the time period, especially from Claire's perspective。 。。。more

Merle Stone,
I loved the Outlander books。 I've read almost all of Gabaldon books。 I am waiting for the last two of her Lord John Grey books。 The books give you a look at Scottish life under the English in the mid 1700's。 Also, what life was like in the soon to be USA。 Claire, a women who served in the 1940's as a nurse for the British soldiers in WWll。 After the end of the war she, accidently gets transported back two hundred years in time, to meet the love of her life。 Jamie Fraser is a scottish Laird who s I loved the Outlander books。 I've read almost all of Gabaldon books。 I am waiting for the last two of her Lord John Grey books。 The books give you a look at Scottish life under the English in the mid 1700's。 Also, what life was like in the soon to be USA。 Claire, a women who served in the 1940's as a nurse for the British soldiers in WWll。 After the end of the war she, accidently gets transported back two hundred years in time, to meet the love of her life。 Jamie Fraser is a scottish Laird who suffers at the hands of English Soldier known as Black Jack Randall。 A multigenerational relative of her husband, Frank Randall, the resemblance is startling。 The books span around 30 years。 Between the time Claire arrives in the past knowing some of the history of the past。 She knows Scottish life will not be the same after the battle of Culloden。 Jamie should have died in the war。 Jamie had sent Claire back to the future。 She becomes a surgeon and has Jamie's baby。 Read the books if you like historical novels you should love these。 I have reread the series three times。 。。。more
Kelly Knight,
I came late to the Outlander party (2019)。 The first time I read these books, I rushed through reading them to get the story。 This second reading, I enjoyed the beauty of Diana Gabaldon’s writing。 I love to reread great stories, and I know this won’t be my only reread of this series。
Barb,
Excellent book!! Can’t put down。 A must read。If you have the Stars channel。 It is a must watch。
Amy Sloan,
OMG! This series is outstanding! If you have a summer to kill, I highly recommend it。 If not, you can probably make the series of eight books last for a year easily! History, fantasy, romance, all rolled into one series。 It your a stickler for consistent point of view this may upset you as the point of view in this series switches from time to time。 It didn’t bother me because I was too caught up in the story!
Kathy Barnes,
Loved every word of this series!I feel in love with the highlands and the stubborn Scots。 I would highly recommend this to anyone interested in a love story set across the ages!
